From the PA Chairs
Dear Saint Peter School Parent Community,
We hope this message finds everyone healthy and well as we welcome each of you and your families to the 2021-2022 school year. It is hard to believe we are entering another school year dealing with the Covid-19 pandemic. However, if last year taught us anything, it is that the Saint Peter community will always come together to ensure the highest quality education and experience for our young scholars. Our principal, teachers and staff have been working tirelessly over the summer to ensure another safe opening of our doors and they are excited to welcome our children back (perhaps not as stoked as we parents are to send our children back, but pretty close!).
The main function of the Parent Association (PA) is to support the Advancement Office with major fundraising initiatives as well with community outreach, teacher appreciation and school spirit. All parents are automatically members of the PA and your involvement will make a difference to both you and your child(ren) as well as have an enormous impact on the entire Saint Peter community. As of right now, all PA meetings will be held virtually on the first Wednesday of every month with a time TBD. Even if you are unable to attend our monthly meetings, we always welcome your interest and involvement in any way! Please be on the lookout for communications from your room parent as that will be a great source of info for all of the happenings at Saint Peter this year.
We were blown away by the community support last year as we adjusted, pivoted, re-jigged, reimagined, tried a few new things and did virtually everything virtual on the PA front. With your support in ways big and small, we hope to keep the momentum going this year so that we can all share in Saint Peter’s continued success.
We truly are excited to once again co-chair the PA this school year and grateful to be working with you as a community of parents, students and staff to make the school year a memorable and rewarding one, regardless of what is sent our way. Let’s work together to make Saint Peter School the best place for our children to grow and learn!
In good health,
Wendy Burns (parent of grade 2 and grade 4 students)
Kathyr Ranger (parent of a grade 4 student)
Volunteer opportunities
Recess Duty Volunteer
This year students have additional recess time to provide more mask breaks. In order to give teachers enough prep and break time, we are looking for parents volunteers to monitor these recess periods. Each period is 20 minutes long and takes place on the playground, turf or church lawn. In inclement weather, recess takes place in the Gym or the Cafeteria.
A few things to note:
To volunteer, find out about VIRTUS training or get a CORI form, please contact Kathy Flynn or Principal Boyden.
