What inspired you to become a teacher? I was inspired to teach by my 5th grade teacher, Mr. Kennedy. Growing up, I was a struggling learner, and Mr. Kennedy was the first teacher that really supported and believed in me as a student. That changed school for me forever. It didn’t take long for me to realize that having that kind of impact on a child’s life is what I want to do for the rest of mine.
What's your favorite teaching memory? I have many, but one of my favorites was on my last day teaching in England. The students had put their own pocket money together to buy me a beautiful white watch with our class name engraved on the back. It no longer works, but every time I look at it I smile and think of my students.
Hobbies outside of school: Writing, traveling, hiking with my family, and training our new puppy.
